Zuiderkerkstoren desalination - Amsterdam, Netherlands

The Zuiderkerkstoren in Amsterdam was desalinated using Saltpull Type 2.

In this special case, this desalination poultice was made on site, due to the fact that we were dealing with very special salts that had different levels of solubility depending on the temperature! Because of this, the product had to be made with hot water and after applying the mortar, a grid of heating cables was embedded. This way, the salts were able to fully dissolve and transfer into the desalination poultice, which was then removed.
